RateMyOakland, Google Chrome Extension.

  • Led a team of five to create a Chrome extension that streamlines the online class registration process for Oakland University students
  • Used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to scrape professor reviews from RateMyProfessors.com and display them directly on the online registration system
  • Garnered 45+ users in the first month on the Chrome Web Store and reduced students’ average class registration time by 30%
  • Applied Scrum development practices for efficiency and utilized Git for version control

Boredom Bot, Reddit Bot.

  • Coded a script in Python to automatically reply to comments in an online forum which contain statements of boredom
  • Integrated third-party Bored and PRAW APIs to randomize boredom-killing suggestions as well as to further filter them based on type of activity required by the user, such as ’recreational’, ’charity’, ’educational’, and more

Echo Chamber, Live Chat Web App.

  • Developed a single-page real-time chat application using React and Node.js for anonymous discussion
  • Employed Socket.io for message communication, Material UI for component styling and design, and Heroku for app deployment
  • Incorporated feature for users to sort through and change discussion channels within the chatroom for a change in topic

Pixel Match, Image Search Engine.

  • Currently developing an image search engine in Java that allows users to upload an image whose image vectors are then compared with those of other stored images to detect if they are similar in content
  • Implementing the storage of potentially thousands or millions of image records through a MySQL database
